I am pleased to have the opportunity to write you a letter of recommendation. Your contributions to the success of our company over the past 18 months have been substantial. I was extremely skeptical about the MAP process and the results you and others claimed it could provide. I remember thinking after my first day in the MAP workshop that I was "wasting my time." 18 months later, I am happy to say that I was very wrong.
At the time I was first introduced to MAP I was just beginning a new role as Vice President in charge of Operations with my company. I was asked to take on this assignment even though I had very little experience with this side of the business. The accomplishments of my team and I in the last year have been great. With your help and guidance I was able to transform the culture of my company with virtually zero experience in my new role. I have been able to implement systems that were nonexistent within my company and significantly upgrade my team. Most importantly I was able to gain the respect of those that I lead.
With your help I have personally grown as a leader. This has fostered a huge turnaround in my company's performance despite the fact that we are in a tough economy. We are currently on a run of 31 weeks of positive same store sales growth and continue to outperform our competition. At the recent El Pollo Loco (EPL) leadership conference, WKS received 14 out of a possible 31 awards for outstanding operations among the EPL franchise community. This was a truly remarkable accomplishment.
As we head into 2012, I am more excited about our future and what lies ahead than ever before.
